Hiroshima Castle

Decided to take a walk over to Hiroshima Castle this morning.  Like the rest of Hiroshima, it was rebuilt after 1945.  It was built to look like the original castle on the outside and on the inside they display cases with some of the remains of the original castle as well as some traditional samurai armor and swords.  The added bonus of going in the castle was the view from the top (and the breeze as it is really hot today).

Main entrance to the castle

View from the top of the grounds around the castle and a little bit of the roof with Hiroshima in the background.

The moat at the back of the castle and Hiroshima.  On the other side of the moat is a "jogging" trail that goes around the outside of the moat and castle and is 1.5km long.  I was watching the one guy out there running laps while carrying a little bag of something.  It was pretty interesting.  He must have ran about 10 laps while I was checking things out.

The back side of the castle from the far side of the moat.

I think this is some sort of a guard house since its on the corner of the inside of the moat?  Just thought it was pretty with the pine tree.
